Application of CA-Markov Model for the Analysis of Urban Growth in Gumel Town Jigawa State of Nigeria

The land use cover change and its modeling approach has recently been considered by the scientific community to observe environmental changes. Remote Sensing Geographical Information System (GIS) give major techniques which can be useful in analysis at town locale as well city levels. RS data from Thematic Mapper sensor of 1998, 2002, 2010, 2014, 2018, Operational Land Imager 2018 were used for analysis. study a supervised classification technique classification, Cellular Automata Markovian (CA-Markov) Model was future projection 2038. result shows that projected year 2038 with 0.9079 K-standard value stimulation, further uses Maximum likelihood classifier (MLC) method classify images. reveals continuous pattern urban growth 3.96 km2 4.73 terms settlement growth, dense vegetation decreased 11.73 8.55 also shrubland 44.82 36.30, last bare increased more than all classes 162.69 173.69. findings present are planners decision-makers sustainable natural resource management.
